Bryke. You’re KILLING ME.
You’re better than this. Why.
WHY
Really? Have they learned NOTHING from the first book?
They outright said they refuse to take any criticism from the fandom and discredited us by calling us ‘crazy fangirls’
i don’t get it at all
this is their way of generating shipping in the fandom and “dramatic tension” in the plot
it’s pathetic
the best thing about shipping is that you look at the little details, you have fun with subtleties. Great friendships and allies bond in stories, and we can interpret those bonds as potentially romantic/sexual/what-have-you
the point is that writers really don’t have to do the shipping FOR shippers. the whole Team mako/bolin thing on the Nickelodeon channel just feels cheap and weird, and it’s just lazy way of creating dramatic tension between characters that just end up looking whiney and childish when things don’t go their way
why waste your time writing it this way when you have the awesomeness of the Avatar world that you could be thoroughly fleshing out in an engrossing way? There’s so much potential to be plundered here, and they’re just wasting screen-time on having these apparent adults gazing and glaring at each other over romantic mishaps. yAWN
We all know this is what really happened.
just finished korra.
yeah… that was not as good as the airbender series.
No, it wasn’t. So far, that is. Honestly, I think there are many things they’re trying to figure out. They’re probably still wondering how to deal with a strong female lead. They already shipped her with Mako, so that’s done. Honestly, though, I think that it was a very good series overall with a ton of potential.
In other words, I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait for more.I wanna rewrite the ending and replace theirs with mine ‘cause it’s better.
O.o What are you doing in my head?!
While I am extremely happy that Dante Basco has made a return to the show via General Iroh II, I feel that the bigger deal is the display of love and bravery from Lin.
I don’t know if Lin still had romantic feelings for Tenzin, but what I do know is that she genuinely loved him. She sacrificed her greatest strength for him, his family, and the future of Airbending. This makes me think that she wanted them (Tenzin and Lin) to break up to force him to reproduce with an Air Acolyte woman just to be sure that the Airbender lineage and culture are passed on - but that’s just speculation.
What is not speculation is her bravery. She knew what she was doing, she knew she was going to sacrifice a large part of herself to keep Tenzin and his family safe. She was prepared and ready to make that commitment.
While the stubborness and dedication are essential of earth benders, the power and the bravery are perhaps the new qualities of metal benders.
Lin - you are my hero.
From a feminist perspective, she is the best thing since sliced bread. This is what love - romantic or otherwise - looks like. She represents an ideal image that strong women in video games and action movies should be portrayed like.
Move over General Iroh II, Beifong Lin needs her time. Maybe a full week.
air. earth. fire. cabbage. long ago the four nations lived together in harmony. then everything changed when the cabbage men attacked. only the avatar, master of all three elements and vegetable could stop them. but when the world needed him the most, he turned into a carrot

You see these girls? These are some of the most badass, complex characters in the history of animation. From the bamf we hail as Korra, to the tragically twisted Azula, these girls are not to be messed with. They have faced enemies, espionage, and mastered their fighting techniques, and the oldest of them is only seventeen. Thank you Mike and Bryan, for creating fantastic female characters and role models.
